Inauguration Day
Inauguration Day at LGS : by Mrs. Olson
Students in 3-8 grades spent the day on January 20, 2021, watching the inauguration. The 8th graders were only 4th graders during the last inauguration, so it was a new experience for them. They enjoyed seeing many of the former presidents that were in attendance along with President Biden's speech. They also enjoyed the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. It was a nice experience for the students to see the ceremonies and traditions that happen on Inauguration Day.
Amos V. - I learned that they bring in many people to perform.
Nathan B. - I learned that the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers is a very protected place.
Ayden L. -My thoughts on the inauguration-it was better than I expected. I thought that Trump supporters might riot, but they didn't and allowed a peaceful transfer for President Biden.
