Even though we are not in school tomorrow, the Statewide Terrorism & Intelligence Center has been made aware of a threat circulating TikTok stating “school shootings and bomb threats for every school in the USA even elementary” on Friday, December 17th, 2021. Several states have reported this threat has been circulating through their school districts.
At this time, the STIC currently has no specific information concerning any threats or attacks planned at Illinois schools. Law enforcement and school officials are encouraged to remain vigilant and report all suspicious behavior. Suspicious incidents should be reported immediately to local law enforcement and the STIC at stic@illinois.gov or 877-455-7842.
